Project: WooCommerce Extension for Film Festivals

Summary

International Film Festivals allow for indie films to be publicized and reviewed. Entering a film project into a film festival requires a lot of business specific data about the film and how it was made.
This WordPress plugin allows the festival organizers to take bookings online and to collect the information they need to run the festival.

Technologies

Extension to WooCommerce on WordPress. Custom plugin allows a user to select multiple variant products (film festivals) and to take them straight to the checkout where they will add their business specific information.
WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, Javascript.

Challenges

Variant products in WooCommerce are harder to work with than simple products, the usually rich short codes are not enough and specialist plugins had to be written. Furthermore, the the business information to be captured need to be integrated with the WooCommerce process which required which required extensive customization through WP action codes.

Length

The project was complete in under a week including design, development, testing and deployment.
